I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
